Club Gastronomique

The dishes at the "Club Gastronomique" represent a variation on selected delicacies, with menus for gourmets. The aim of the club is to establish the Cretan and Mediterranean diet.

The Istron Bay Hotel provides a new dimension in gastronomic experiences in the art of modern cooking by offering a large number of culinary specialities based on traditional Cretan recipes for connoisseurs. The members of the "Club Gastronomique" can gain an insight into the original and the modern-style Cretan cuisine. Behind each menu there lurks a myth derived from the handing down of old recipes and which takes you right back into the Minoan era.

Presentations of regional products and an introduction to the local style of cooking and excursions based on a theme round out this culinary journey.

 Cooking Courses

In the Istron Bay Hotel you can attend a cooking course where each person learns to cook on the basis of local recipes. This includes the buying of fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs in the market, followed by the preparation of creative dishes under the guidance of the master chef in a relaxed atmosphere. After that you all get together to socialize and enjoy the variety of flavours from the dishes you have all just prepared while enjoying wines to set it off perfectly.

Once the course is completed, the participants can parade their newly won culinary skills and once they have passed the examination they are given a certificate from the "Greek Academy of Taste" with a collection of recipes.

All the guests who wish to do so can learn to prepare various items from the repertoire of hors d'oevres in a short course at no charge and afterwards enjoy what they have created.
